Windows Mobile Software: SpoonAlarm II
Windows Mobile has an inbuilt alarm system that works quite well, but it has some limitations. It is not finger friendly, there is no snooze feature, and we are limited to what sound files we can play as an alarm.
SnoozeAlarm II is a small program that can turn your Windows Mobile device into a worthwhile alarm clock. The buttons are large, making it easy to configure and set. Most importantly, there is a snooze button which is easy to press when you wake up. The snooze time is also configurable.
SnoozeAlarm II lets you wake up to an MP3 file rather than the default WAV files that come with Windows Mobile.
The only feature that SnoozeAlarm II doesn’t have which I would like to see is a feature to set the alarm to sound on weekdays only. Strangely enough, the built in Windows Mobile alarm does allow for.

It’s a very bad application!!!
Very limited options
Horrible interface
Slow repond
& THE MOST SHOCKING THING !!! if you installed the application, created and alarm then removed the application & restart the device as it asks for it. Still the alarms will will pop notifications on your today screen with the alam voice with an arror message about not being able to find the Spoon ALARM !!!!!!
Horrible
Hi Philandero
Thanks for this information. I didn’t try uninstalling it. It is pretty shocking if it does what you claim. Hopefully it can be fixed by searching the registry for any reference to spoonalarm, and deleting it.
I have been using it on my phone over the last week while I have been away. It has worked quite well for me. It does have a problem where it can load multiple instances and therefor sound multiple alarms. I got the hang of it though so that I only have one instance. It has worked quite well for me apart from that. As you say, I hope my uninstall goes better.
I would be interested as to what other alarms are available. I can’t agree that this has a bad interface as it is the best I have seen, and I quite like it. I would be keen to try out other alarms if you know of any better ones. The bulk windows mobile app sites I looked through had various other alarms which were much less appealing. I am keen to find a perfect solution.
It’s an alarm. I am really surprised how hard it is to find a really good one.
I downloaded it because my default alarm is weaksauce. This ones even worse. It only decides to play the mp3 assigned to it 1/5th of the time.
I removed the program and every day at 12:30 it tries to run it and tell me there’s an alarm and fails because it doesn’t exist. I’m using Windows Mobile 6.1 on a XV6800.
BUGGY ass program… steer clear.
Hi Chris, this has turned into a program I wish I had never writen about, or put on my device. It is hardly a promotional tool for their commercial products. When I uninstalled it, I got the same results as Philandero. Luckily, a few days later, the device stopped calling up Spoon alarm.
You could try out g-alarm. I have been using it since uninstalling spoon alarm and it has been working really well for me. There are regular updates to it almost weekly, mostly adding new features and occasionally minor bug fixes.
After the un-install I still get the windows notification (but saying it can’t find the .exe).
Its irritating to say the least and was wondering if anyone has been able to find a solution for it?
Thanks in advance!
