Windows Software: Real Australian Pokie Machine ROM’s
Most of the pokie/slot machines in Australia are made by a company called Aristocrat. They make interesting games which are lots of fun to play. Their games all include special features, lots of playable lines, great animations, and an amusing soundtrack. All of these things make them very popular.
Evidence of this popularity can be seen in pubs around the nation, which almost always have a dedicated pokie room. The only problem is that it is against the law to get one of these machines installed at home without a license.
We can now play these games in the comfort of our own home, and there’s no need to spend a cent. This is supposedly thanks to someone internal to Aristocrat releasing these ROMs to the public. These are not remakes, but the actual ROMs that are used in the machines that are played in clubs all across Australia.
There are 4 ROMs in all to download. These include 50 Lions, Atlantis, Orchid, and one of my favourites, Indian Dreaming (shame about the included link feature). Each ROM comes with an emulator which represents the buttons on a real Pokie machine.
The ROMs are downloaded from RapidShare, so if you are not a member, you may need some patience for the download to be made available to you.

The working roms that I have been able to find are Aristocrat mk4 roms. I have also found mk5 roms but the MAME emulator only has preliminary drivers, meaning it wont play but the developers are close to getting the roms to work (a matter of time).

If you have no sound you probably have windows vista operating system. Use the program compatability tool and click on windows xp mode.

To play mk4 roms you need to use mame32

Download the mame32 emulator and install it..
Then go to

You will have to look for MAME roms. The list of working aristocrat mk4 roms you will find are:

1. The game roms that you have downloaded must be left zipped and placed in \MameUI32\roms
2. Start Mame, under FILE select “Audit all Games”
3. Let Mame scan your roms. When it has finished select Available in the left column. All working roms will appear in the right column with a GREEN checkbox, non working roms are RED.
4. Double click any of the working GREEN roms and the emu will start. When the rom loads a black window appears and you type “OK”. The rom will load and take you to the audit screen. It says METER SET 1 at the top. You will see the Audit Key and Jackpot Key bottom left. They must be highlighted by using “J” and “K”. Then hold down “ZXC” together and you should see on the right side of the audit screen RF/AMT and it should have a value of 200. Then press “J” and “K” to exit the audit screen.
5. Press “5” to add coins.
6. BET 1 COIN – “W” BET 2 COINS-“E” BET 3 COINS-“R” BET 5 COINS-“T” BET 10 COINS-“Y”
I usually use “Y” max coins
7. Bet 1 line-“S” Bet 3 lines “D” Bet 5 lines-“F” Bet 7 lines-“G” Bet 9 lines-“H”
I usually use “H” max lines
so, 5 to add coins then Y for max coins then H max lines and the game then spins….
If you lose or win you can play on by hitting “H” again. To gamble after a win hit “U” then “H” for black and “S” for red. “J” to keep the win. “Q” will cancel out your credits won, collect..
If any of the games HANG or wont start correctly close the rom and try to restart the rom again.

hey ive downloaded it properly and i have gone to compatibility izard and changed to windos xp service pack 2 but i still cant get sound and no feature for 50 loins can someone help me thanks!

Pompei is a mk6 rom (similar to the ones found in the 4 game Aristocrat pack) I have heard of some guys that are tinkering with it to try to play other roms. If they succeed then I would suggest Pompei would be playable.
MAME developers are still working on emulating mk5 roms. They are getting very close to having a working driver. There are many excellent mk5 roms that are downloadable right now including Queen Of The Nile and Adonis. As soon as the working mk5 driver is released for MAME I will post the info here.
Until then enjoy the mk4 roms as well as the 4 mk6 roms. More news soon …..

it sounds stupid but it is going to save me sooooo much money to be able to play these at home rather than for real money at the pub…. i am so happy.
@lesterSeah Save the mame32.exe install file to your pc and run it. It will install mame32. After it has installed download the roms as per my previous instructions and it should run.
The roms you ask for are online for download at emuasylum and also emu paradise. You need to go to either site and look for them. I have just checked both sites and the roms are still online 🙂

I have installed mame32, and also place the 3bagflnz folder in winrar.zip format into Roms dir.
however, after executed the mame32.exe error message
appear as seletced game is missing one or more require roms or chd game.
some procedure maybe wrong , could you please advise
how to place the folder correctly.

3bagflvt zip (32KB) , audit the games box red shown enter the game, require file are missing the game cannot run
Sounds like the rom zip is corrupted. If it shows in red after audit all games try a different version of the same rom from another site. Or leave me an email address and ill see what I can do help.

I have try mame U139 , place the rom 3bagfvt into rom dir,
Executive mame in dos mode need not have audit in mame 0139, screen just appear with game name but when enter selected game is missing , below configure input show meny keys .. please advise

i was looking at all the comments about the feature on 50 lions and indian dreaming im haveing the same problem and carnt start the feature done every think everxyones tryed and nothing can any one help

Those 4 roms are running 32 bits only
you can try these by right hand click to mainsys
properties go to compatility to change to xp version
unless shown 32 bits if not sorry
can some one help i cant play the feature on any of the games and no sound as well what am i doing wrong

unzipped it store 4 folder
tick the indian shortcut and uncheck all the tick
unless windows 7 or vista require to change the setting of the mainsys right click -properties go to compatibility to xp
I’m technologically challenged. I love playing Indian Dreaming but am fed up with losing money. I’d like to be able to play it on my laptop, but I’ll need very clear directions on how to download it. Can anyone help please???

1. Click on the link posted by “Josh said, on September 15, 2010 @ 6:37 am” to the mediafire.com website.
2. Then on that site click on the link that says “Click here to start download..” The file will then download. Wait for file to finish downloading.
3. To open the .rar file you must have a program like winrar – which you can download for free (just search google).
4. After you have installed winrar, go to the directory where the poker_machines.rar file has downloaded to and then left mouse button click on the poker_machines.rar file and select “extract here”. This will create a folder called poker machines
5. Go into the poker machines directory, then go into the folder called indian, then double click on a file called indian (a shortcut file).
6. The game will then start. When the game has started, there will be a tool bar with bet and play line options, look beside that area for a tick box with words beside it saying “belly pannel” untick that box and the game should work fine.
7. The game seems to work the smoothest on Windows Xp. I have heaps of random problems with windows 7 (sound doesn’t seem to work with windows 7).

They are not available yet. There is a mk5 aristcrat driver that is being worked on for MAME. As soon as the driver is released mk5 games can be played with a MAME emulator. There are plenty of mk4 roms around that work fine on MAME. If any new info comes up I will post here.

Hi mate, try running the pokies in Windows XP compatibility mode. This has fixed the ” no sound ” issue for some people. So, right click the Mainsys.exe go to properties and set compatibility mode and try running it as an XP program. Let us know if this fixes the issue.
